Beauty Queen Annamarie Murillo - @MsNYTeenBL2012

Glad to have a Beauty Queen on our blog!
AnnaMarie Murillo describes her aspirations, goals & dreams.

My name is Annamarie Murillo and I am the reigning Miss Teen Latina International United States 2013. I was born and raised in Newburgh, NY but recently moved to Florida. I am involved in many activities such as acting, modeling, cheerleading, community service and pageantry. I am currently in high school. I participate in many clubs such as Key Club, SAVY (Students against Violent Youth), and the Gay-Straight Alliance. Some of my goals are to inspire, lead, and encourage Latinos all over the country. I plan on continuing with pageantry so that I can achieve my ultimate goal of becoming Miss Universe and proudly represent Hispanics all over the universe. My plan is to attend my dream college of Northeastern University and study Broadcasting and Journalism. After college, I plan on attending New York Film Academy for one year in order to expand my knowledge. As for future career aspiration, I hope to become a broadcast journalist and hopefully work for Seventeen Magazine.Pageantry had always been something I wanted to do since I was a young girl. Many of my family members are current or past beauty queens. I entered my first pageant at the age of 13, National American Miss Junior Teen New York. To my surprise, I was proudly named one of the top 20 finalists out of 184 girls. I realized this is something I love and wanted to continue doing. I entered the Miss Teen Westchester pageant and unfortunately, didn’t win but I still enjoyed the journey and found it as a great learning experience. My third pageant was the Miss New York Teen Belleza Latina 2012 pageant. I can happily say I won New York state queen. Another of my past titles includes New York’s Perfect JR teen Latina. Being a queen has kept me very busy. I involve myself in a lot of community events, fashion shows and charity events. I have worked with many designers, and also been in movies and music videos. I am also very honored to be the national spokesmodel for Operation Prom. Another company I work with is O2 MAX Fitness by promoting being fit, confident, and self esteem . Self Esteem is an issue that I am very passionate about helping other teens with. I, myself, went through self esteem struggles so I know how difficult it can be. My goal is to help teenagers from all over with this issue and help them overcome it. In my free time, I enjoy helping out around my community, cheerleading, writing and designing. I am so grateful of the opportunity I have been given to represent my state and country with grace and pride. With the support of family, everyone who believed in me, and a lot of hard work, I have been able to do greatness and have my dreams come true.

Where can you spot me next?
Definitely expanding my career in acting and modeling.
