Interview with Filmmaker @DawnCobalt on #TheSashaMarinaShow #BlogTalkRadio

Dawn Cobalt has been an illustrator, art director, creative director, photographer, production assistant, grip, gaffer, writer, assistant director, executive producer and just about every job on a movie set except caterer (although she always makes sure there’s a great spread on every production).

A graduate of the New York Film Academy, she is the co-founder of FutureView Entertainment. She worked on the short “Wreck the Halls” with Mickey Rooney, with whom she talked a lot about old-school film making.

Her films have been exhibited at the London Independent Film Festival, the Action on Film International Film Festival and the Los Angeles Short Fest, among others.

Her music video for Aces High’s “Kill for You" is the winner of the Honolulu Film Festival Accolade for Filmmaking Award; First Place Winner, Rock Video Category, Indie Gathering Film Festival; Best Overall Music Video, ShockFest; Sexy Lead, Jackie Nico, ShockFest; and Best Overall Music Video, California Film Awards.

She also is the director of Out Smart, a short about coming out, Smart. Many PFLAG chapters have shown this film to start conversation about coming out. Out Smart has won the Special Jury Prize from the 2013 California Awards.
