Chris Alfonso is a Cuban American performer that is originally from Miami, Florida. Chris began performing in dance shows in Middle School and then joined chorus and an a Thespian Troupe throughout high school. He was able to participate in the Florida State Thespians Festival in Tampa, FL. He there then received an excellent for his Pantomime piece at Individual Events competition. Throughout high school, he was able to usher and grow into the arts by volunteering in community theaters and will allow him to meet people in the industry. Later on he transferred to Miami Dade College to pursue a Degree in Theater. He has been in three man stage productions and 2 student written productions. He took his leadership skills and became prudent for the thespian honor society where he lead them throughout fundraisers, events, and workshops throughout the school year. He also had the honor to work with Ricky J Martinez in The Miami One Acts Festival in New Theater Summer 2013. Chris has not only been on the stage but also backstage haven taken the job as Assistant stage manager in the production of Chekhov Lizardbrain at the Colony Theater in Miami Beach, Florida. Chris has been nominated once for the American College Theater Festival where he was able to compete for the Irene Ryan Scholarship and was also able to attend a number of workshops. He was also cast in Andrew Lippa's "The Wild Party" at the Roxy Theater Group in Kendall, Florida and also got cast in The Miami Time Festival with White Rose Miami. Chris has been successful in his college career by being awarded a theater plaque to recognize his hard work as an artist and was inducted by The National Society of Business and Success. Chris took the chance to try film and was cast in the film "Pain and Gain" and the Starz Show, "Magic City" for extra work.
He now is currently in a production called "Clybourne Park" by Bruce Norris which one a Tony and a Pulitzer award for the Broadway production. He will be playing Karl/Steve and it will be taken place at Miami Dade College. It will be a free admission and donations are always welcomed. Chris will also be performing in a dance show that his school will be having with a Modern and a Flamenco piece. Due to his work he will be graduating with a 3.5 GPA and will be transferring to the University of Florida in Spring 2014 to obtain a Bachelors of Arts in Theater. Chris chose to become a Gator even though he got accepted to become a knight in the BFA program at the University of Central Florida. He is thrilled to have many adventures and memories to create in Gainseville, Florida.
