To remedy this, we have formed the Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival, a forum for inventive and imaginative filmmakers from all over to come and showcase their work. All of us in MiSciFi work in scientific fields, and greatly respect those that want to tell a story that takes science a step beyond. We will have seminars on social media, cinematography, Dean Lyon who is a Visual Effect Supervisor in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy will give a lecture on shooting with VFX's.  "

Help Ginnungagap Film Werks achieve their goal! @ginfilm

We need your help to make Temple of Joy better than Planet X.  To accomplish this we need an investment for a better visual processor package.  That can be accomplished for around $3000 dollars.  It will allow us to produce visuals at least 50% faster.  The extra time available to design means better sets, graphics and visual effects overall.  Can you see where this conversation is going?

Securing locations, enhanced wardrobe, paid cast and crew, props, permit fees, marketing, festivals, set construction, and catering are all reasonable expenses to support a more enhanced you.  That is the point.  Many of you are in the film and we still have numerous slots to fill for the remaining 4 acts.  All we ask is if you can put in anything from 2 dollars to 200 million dollars, any amount will help.  

Most of all share it with your friends and include the suggestion to “support you”.  You complete this task once a week and see how it will make a difference.  I will provide facebook photos. The more action, dialogue and effects we can have.  The better the film the better you will look in the film. 

Of course when using math it sums far more than 1500, and you are right.  It is more, but that is where you come in.  If we are to make independent film, we have to rely on the independent community to help us make a great film.  Below is a link to the kickstarter which was released early this morning.  Feel free to provide feedback.

The Past is Key to the Future

Plot:

400 years from now, we are given technology by an alien race to travel back through time and observe and protect the history of Planet Earth. During one of the delicate missions the team uncovers an alien faction attempting to change the outcome of events to alter the future.

Two Scientists Who Became Independent Filmmakers Now Working on Feature Length

Plantation FL, March 6, 2013 - For Independent Sci-Fi filmmakers Troy Bernier and Eric Swain, life has never been better. 

The pair, creators of Ginnungagap Filmwerks' Planet X, and stars of the hilarious and touching Journey to Planet X, have recently arrived home from Sedona Arizona where they attended another screening of their wildly successful documentary which will be broadcast on Epix May 1st. 

However, resting on their laurels is not the way for Troy and Eric. They have begun production of their new feature-length film Temple of Joy, which is a time-travel epic set over several centuries of human history. 

"We wanted to do a sci-fi film about time travel" says Producer, Director and Actor Troy Bernier. "We wanted to explore the idea that you can affect your own timeline through the actions you take in the past." 

"Temple of Joy is vast" agrees partner Eric Swain. "We've already shot in Spain, Florida, and Arizona and we have many more locations planned out." Though the pair are tight-lipped about their plans, there is rumor that one of the acts is located on a real pirate ship.

Though Ginnungagap Filmwerks have funded their past works entirely out of pocket, this time they are relying on the help of the community at large. Temple of Joy is by far the largest project they have worked on to date and also the most ambitious. 

"There is no way we could fund Temple of Joy ourselves." Says Bernier. "We have many more location shots plus much more CG (Computer Graphic) and VFX (Visual Effects) planned to tell this story. We learned a lot filming Planet X and we're really hoping to raise the bar on our film productions and we're hoping the community can help us out."
