We have attended sci-fi film festivals as far away as Europe, but have noted a lack of more local festivals that cater to this interest. To remedy this, we have formed the Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival, a forum for inventive and imaginative filmmakers from all over to come and showcase their work. All of us in MiSciFi work in scientific fields, and greatly respect those that want to tell a story that takes science a step beyond. We will have seminars on social media, cinematography, Dean Lyon who is a Visual Effect Supervisor in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy will give a lecture on shooting with VFX's.  "

Interview with Hollywood Producer of @HouseEndOfDrive, David Oman (@The_Oman1) on #TheSashaMarinaShow #BlogTalkRadio

Beverly Hills, CALIF--
On January 11th, 3:00pm 2014 at the Shockfest Film Festival at the Raleigh Studios in Hollywood, Hollywood producer David Oman along with Paul Mason, the Executive Producer of “The Amityville Horror” will present the West Coast Screening of the feature film “House at the End of the Drive"...It’s Where They Died, inspired by the true events of the shocking August 1969 Manson/Tate murders.
Oman, who wrote the original screenplay, lives in the house down the drive from where the actual Manson/Tate slayings took place, and also where most of the principal photography was shot. The independent horror movie was inspired by Oman’s personal experiences residing only a stone’s throw away from the location of one of America’s most infamous crimes.
“House at the End of the Drive,” is based on actual supernatural events that have taken place in my house,” remarks the film’s creator, David Oman. “Like “The Exorcist” and “The Entity” before it, the film is anchored on documented evidence of the paranormal. But after all of my experiences I have learned that you have more to fear from the living than from the dead.”
The story asks this, can a 36 year old mass-murder haunt four people enough to rip open a doorway to the past and catapult them back in time to the night of one of Hollywood’s most horrible ritual slayings?
The chatter of a quiet dinner party in posh Oxford Canyon is rudely interrupted as the real truths are set on the table. Fact and fiction intertwine as the couple’s talk of ghosts and spirits from beyond which prompts them to take steps that will alter that night and their lives forever.
Supernatural forces from the past transport the dinner guests through time --back to the night of the original killings. In a cruel twist of fate, they materialize as the soon-to-be victims of the massacre they had been discussing only minutes earlier.  Is the knowledge of the future enough to shield them from the horrors of the “helter-skelter” mayhem from the past? Can careful plotting overpower the invasion by the most infamous family of mass murderers? Surely, yesterday is finally over. Only time will tell, as the visitors from the house at the end of the drive are swept into a hell storm of dark forces and fury almost beyond belief.
Which is scarier the past or the present? Sometimes there is no difference!
Oman’s famous residence is no stranger to the world of paranormal activity. The unworldly stories of the house will be featured in several upcoming television programs including the History channel’s “Haunted History: TheManson Murders” which aired July 12, 2013 at 7 p.m. PST and “Paranormal Witness: The Manson Curse,” which aired July 31, 2013 at 8 p.m. PST on the SyFy channel.
“House at the End of the Drive"...It’s Where They Died,” features an award winning cast including Lance Henrikson (Aliens), Angela Jones (Pulp Fiction), Jessica Szohr (Gossip Girl) and Jonathan Mangum (The Bucket List).

Singer & Songwriter @MargoRey #TheSashaMarinaShow #BlogTalkRadio

Margo Rey was born in Acapulco Mexico and laid her professional foundation with over a decade of classical music training under the exclusive tutelage of classical voice professor Dr. Luther Stripling. At the age of 16, Rey fronted an all female rock band Debutante (The Debs,) who toured the U.S. as well as over- seas and also sang in a 3 piece power pop band called the Ritual before beginning a career in jazz. After becoming the band leader for the Latin/Jazz R&B Sextet Miss Margo and the Lost Souls, Rey was signed to an indie label (Exitos-Latinos) where she recorded a Tejano/Pop Spanish album. This release boasted one top five and two top twenty singles. She soon caught the attention of actor Edward James Olmos who recommended her for a principal role in the bound for Broadway musical Selena Forever . This led to a number of theatre credits including Saturday Night Fever, Latin Heat, Like Jazz, Senor Discretion Himself, Zorro and Canta Lunga. During this time period she began crafting and touring her own original music that she calls “Organica.”
“Let The Rain,” the latest single from singer/songwriter Margo Rey was digitally released on the Organica Music Group Record Label on August 16, 2011. “Let The Rain” was co-written by Margo Rey and John Oates. This is the first release from Rey’s forthcoming CD which will feature additional songs written by Rey and Oates. The album was produced by Margo Rey, Michael Blakey and Elton Ahi.
When describing the song Margo comments: “Let The Rain” is about finding solace in a time of adversity. I have very fond memories of my mother, my sister and I running outside, high heels and all and reveling in a vigorous summer rain shower. I personally always found it funny that even on a warm day, the slightest bit of precipitation would make people scatter and take cover as if they were going to rust or melt like the Wicked Witch in the Wizard Of Oz.
I have found that the challenging times are the times when I have grown and learned the most about myself and others. The “rain” is a metaphor for letting these times wash over me and sanctify me and allow me to be in the moment. I am honored that John Oates and I were able to collaborate on this song over pie and coffee in his lovely home and begin a new friendship for years to come.”
Adds John Oates: “I didn't know a lot about Margo Rey when we first met but when she began to sing I knew that there was something very special in her voice and presence. Collaborating with a writer you don't know very well can sometimes be a real crap shoot but in this case it seemed like it was meant to be. Margo brought a lot to the table with provocative lyric ideas and a sophisticated melodic sense. I think we wrote three songs the first session and of the three," Let The Rain" really stood out. I love the feminine perspective she brings to the verse imagery and there was never a doubt that she would deliver vocally when it came time to record. Every time I hear " Let The Rain” I can't get it out of my head for days... that's a very good thing ! By the way, she also plays a mean shaker.”
“Let The Rain” was serviced to AC Radio on August 8th and the song is available on all digital outlets including iTunes and Amazon.com. It has been played on Sirius XM’s The Blend and on FM AC radio stations all over the US. It peaked on Billboard’s Top 20 Pop Adult Contemporary Chart and has been living there for over 21 weeks.

On July 10th Organica Music Group released Margo Rey’s highly anticipated CD, Habit. The album features Margo’s new Top 20 charting single “Between Us,” as well as her recent hit song “Let the Rain.” The latter, co-written by Ms. Rey and the legendary John Oates, remained on the charts for an astonishing 21 weeks, making it Billboard’s “Hot Shot Debut” and additionally earning her kudos in the magazine’s “Bubbling Under” column. The duo also teamed up on the stunning cut “Saturn Returns.” Oates sings on both tracks and he provides an ideal complement to Rey’s powerful yet nuanced vocals. Listeners closest to it claim that Habit is its own brand of sonic luxury and Rey emerges as a force of nature — in heels no less.

"I made the decision to become an actress when I was 10 years old while in the midst of an argument with my mother. She had caught me out on a lie that I’d told and I was in big trouble. I turned to storm up the stairs in a huff, when my Mum, frustrated out of her mind (and clearly intending to throw an insult), screamed up the stairs the words that would switch on a light bulb in my head and change my life forever."

Interview w/ Recording Artist @RellyBonSnow #TheSashaMarinaShow #BlogTalkRadio

Relly Snow is a recording artist from Manhattan New York City. Growing up in the projects across the street from Lincoln Center, Relly was painfully aware of the wealth he was so close to, but did not have. He started writing at the age of 13, after discovering music through friends of his father and older family members.

Relly credits a blind guitar player with teaching him to write, and his croon poetic is a reflection of the dusty corners of his mind and self-proclaimed wasted youth. Relly's eccentric imagination and unique word plays create a flow that is cinematic and sure to entertain. His musical influences include Outkast, Pharrell, Kanye West and Big L. Relly's upcoming debut album "No Nothing, No Vacation" promises highly diversified production and lyrical content, uncharacteristic of his New York contemporaries.

Interview w/ @ShaunaBurns on #TheSashaMarinaShow #BlogTalkRadio

Shauna Burns is a Las Vegas based singer-songwriter who blends ethereal vocals and sweeping piano runs who has won over audiences across the United States with her Celtic style.

From her 2005 debut Every Thought and 2006 follow-up EP Desert Tune she has evolved and grown as a musician and a performer. The year 2013 has provided Burns to express her fresh ideas through storytelling. The new album, titled Violet, showcases her music that continues to flourish.

Her debut release unlocked the door to an exhilarating career as one of the most promising multi-talents on today’s indie music scene—a spiritually driven journey that blossomed on her breakthrough 2008 recording The Moon and The Fire Circle and continued on her 2009 EP Anamnesis.

The Moon and the Fire Circle, a richly thematic and ultimately healing work that offered an emotional bridge between darkness and light, met with similar success. Its first single “Around You” reached #7 on the FMQB AC Chart, was one of WCH Radio’s “Top Songs for 2008” and hit #1 on “Song Vault Radio.”  The collection was selected “Best of 2008” by Collected Sounds and The Promise Live.  Radio Crystal Blue also chose Burns as one of the “Top Recording Artists of the Year 2008.” Conceived as an extension of the music on The Moon and the Fire Circle, Burns’ follow-up five track EP Anamnesis included songs that relate in some way to each of the five senses (including “Smell”).

Burns had developed her captivating vocal and playing style while growing up in Miami, where she was inspired by her mother’s love for the piano and groundbreaking pop/rock artists like Sarah McLachlan and Tori Amos.

After receiving a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology at the University of Utah, she spent a year in Europe preparing her debut album. Burns’ music has long been inspired by many cultures and ideas that surround the world as well as the landscape of the deserts and mountains of the Western U.S. Drawing metaphorically upon her passion for Anthropology, she sees every phase of her career as a new opportunity to dig into herself to uncover the next musical adventure.

“It’s heartwarming to receive messages from people who discover and connect with my music and it’s gratifying to know that what I created in solitude has the ability to touch people emotionally,” she says. “I use anthropology as a songwriting tool all the time. It’s the study of human development and cultural identity and relationships between people. I feel the need to cultivate and nurture these little seeds of inspiration because they can grow into big ideas if we take care. It makes me question: What’s next for all of us in the world? What is the universe trying to tell us? I’m listening.”
Over the past few years, Burns has enchanted audiences across the U.S. and in the U.K. with songs from her four original albums and her 2011 holiday release A Winter Gathering, which is a collection of newfangled, holiday carols and original songs.

“I view these performances as if I’m holding a conversation with the audience,” Burns says. “I’m communicating with whoever chooses to listen in that moment, and like to visualize my music embracing whoever wants to embrace it. Just as it’s a friend to them, music is my friend as well. There’s also a time travel element to the experience as well. A lot of people say my songs remind them of things they haven’t thought about in years. They help them recall the innocence of childhood that they had forgotten about. That’s what music does for me, too. I have a huge respect for the power of music and just how spiritual it can be. That’s why I take it so seriously.”

Burns is proud to announce her brand new album entitled Violet. The direction taken for this project is focused on a female love-inspired freedom. Continuing with her Celtic flare, this upcoming release will have positive messages of understanding and show that women are capable of being the heroine and uplifting to those around them.

Violet was released October 22nd  with a total of 14 songs on the album and is available on most digital retail outlets.
